Known as the “Kappa station” the building’s adorable exterior recalls the many legends of the Kappa water sprite (a creature of Japanese folklore) that have been told in Tanushimaru. Kappa figures wait to greet visitors everywhere, even on the train platform. In addition to the Kurume Tourism Convention Tanushimaru Branch, you will find a café called KAPATERIA.
