- By car: Approximately 20 minutes by car on the Kurume IC via the Kyushu Expressway.
By bus: Take a number 1 or 8 Nishitetsu bus to Mii-machi (御井町). Walk for approximately 50 minutes.
By rail: Take the JR Kamome line or the Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta line to Kurume station.
With 100 varieties of azalea, such as those named for locations like Kurume and Hirado, this famous park is home to around 61,000 azalea bushes. The park also gives excellent views of the Chikugo Plain. From spring greenery to fall foliage, nature can be enjoyed year-round here. No matter what the season is, this is a popular spot for trekking and taking the Kyushu OLLE trekking course. [Peak Season] When the azalea blossoms are in peak season, varieties such as Kurume and Hirado Tsutsuji are in proud full bloom. Even in other seasons, this park can be enjoyed year-round for its abundant greenery and autumn foliage.
