Built around the theme of “planet Earth”, Fukuoka Science Museum explores the beauty of our greenery and blue seas; the water, light and winds enabling our co-existence with a plethora of creatures; and the outer space in which Earth lies. The museum exhibits and facilities carry out this theme by offering visitors a fun place to learn while playing, through hands-on experiences and opportunities for discovery. Separated into three zones, visitors can make their own discoveries by learning about humanity, life, and earth or space. What’s more, on the Astro Screen giant monitor in the Cosmo Theater planetarium, supersized images of nature and outer space seem close enough to touch, offering visitors lessons in astronomy as well as seasonal constellations.
