Access
Take a train to JR Chikugo-Kusano Station. Walk for 15 minutes.
Alternatively, take a Nishitetsu bus number 25, getting off at Kusanokyoku-mae (草野局前) bus stop. Walk for 2 minutes.

Every Thursday on the 2nd floor, the Kusano Koharu Shokudo diner is open for business!
Everything on the menu is local produce, made for local consumption and served with local heart.
You can also come here just to relax while taking in the excellent views of the Mino mountain range that can be seen from the diner. We look forward to your visit!

Formerly used as a hospital in the eastern part of Kurume City, this building stands within the traditional townscape of Kusano, a plain extending from the northern foot of Mount Mino. During construction in 1914, it was moved from its original location in the Hanabatake district of Kurume, and construction was completed here. Rare in Kyushu, this large, wooden, the stately exterior of this Western-style 2-story building is well maintained. Including its intricate interiors, the superior design of its structure is highly regarded. In October of 1998, it opened as Yamabe-no-michi Cultural Museum. With exhibit rooms set up to introduce local festivals, its location at the northern foot of Mount Mino can be used as a base for sightseeing.
